Tell me fringe stories about Florida. Myths, supernatural, or just people hitchhiking and tripping over something interesting.

After many long months at sea, Spanish sailors landed in Florida upon sighting some beautiful Indian maidens who were sunbathing on the beach. One Spaniard chased a beautiful maiden into the woods. But she trotted up a tree out his reach.

He was out of breath when he reached the tree, so he rested for a while. Then he climbed the tree after her. She moved up to the tip-top of the tree on a real small limb, and as he reached up to get her, he lost his balance and fell.

His head was caught in the crotch of the tree. His body decayed, but his beard grew on and on … making the Spanish moss.

From a post made by Dennis Payton on May 19, 2017:

The weirdest thing just happened to me… So I’m driving down 441 through Paynes Prairie and I see what looks like a dead body or somebody possibly hurt laying on the side of the road.

There were no cars or any other means of transportation around the body, so I made a U-turn to see if everything was OK or if I needed to call for help.

As I approach the body, the guy sits up and without hesitation says “Hi, my name is Dave, can you give me a ride to Ocala?”

I said, “I’m not heading to Ocala, I just stopped cause I seen you laying there motionless and wanted to see if you were OK.”

He responded by saying, “Oh I’m fine, I’m just laying here cause it gets people to stop. It’s easier than hitchhiking.”

I was furious with his response to say the least… I just rolled up my window without another word and pulled off!! Seriously what is wrong with people these days?

General opinion on Jews in Florida? Image unrelated.
1 post omitted.
>>21
Jews are some of the only normal people that live in this state. Typically they reside in Miami and Broward County, where you can find civilized people.
>>21
They turn ghetto area's in the area to towns that have actual money.

Or fuck Cubans and have Cuban/Jewish babies or something. Most of them are pretending to be latino or cubano.

Hey there, friends

Due to recent events, more specifically the all-out attacks on anonymous message boards by various actors in the US, some folk back at our bunkers created a way to connect imageboards to each other.
We call it "webring", though it technically is a federated network of imageboards like those used in the 90's and early 2000's.
Basically, the idea behind it is simple: download the plugin at https://gitlab.com/Tenicu/infinityaddon-webring or https://gitlab.com/alogware/LynxChanAddon-Webring (depending on your underlying system), install it and you'll immediately be able to access the connected imageboards, as well as to advertise your own to all of them.
>Why would I want this?
Multiple reasons:
- It allows you to advertise your boards to an ANONYMOUS COMMUNITY, meaning that you can have other like-minded people join it instead of having to go to shitty places like reddit or twitter, nor you'd have to go around imageboard per imageboard asking people to come to you;
- It keeps IB users up to date on your IB's status (when it's down, when a new board comes around, when a board becomes popular etc.) - one big reason why we accepted this system is to avoid duplicate boards for niche interests (i.e. Nation-specific boards) while allowing broader interests like videogames or anime to be discussed on multiple sites, with different userbases and moderation teams;
- It prevents situations where your IB going down would mean all the communities you allowed on your website would go scattered to the wind, likewise it allows users from other IBs to move to yours without needing word of mouth;
- Because anonymous communities everywhere are being attacked on multiple fronts and it's always best to have someone back you up, no matter the problem.

>What do we gain from having you?
Like I said, this project relies heavily on people pitching in and allowing multiple interests being discussed on multiple sites. Having your boards listed would allow other IBs to redirect people who want to talk about some topic YOU're interested in towards YOUR IB instead of having to create an ad-hoc board that would see five posts tops and be dead a week later.
In addition to that, the webring allows you to pick and choose which Imageboards you want to redirect to, so if for example one of them looks like a bunch of retards to you, you can always delist them from your version of the webring and they will not appear in your advertisement list.
If you'd like to know more, here's an example of how it looks like on your end: https://anon.cafe/webring.json
And if you've got any troubles installing it, consider visiting https://anon.cafe/ or https://julay.world/ to get proper support.

It was specific to the software, but the newest versions of all plugins for all platforms include it. Basically the webring plugin Floridachan is using needs updating. Pic related is what the lynxchan plugin currently looks like on julay.
>>33
Not seeing any button script on the main plugin page, unless there's a different repository somewhere: https://gitlab.com/alogware/LynxChanAddon-Webring/tree/2.2.x

I'm not entirely sure. I do know the animu bunker site (also using lynxchan) got it working, so it must be possible, however late.city and anon.cafe only got the activity reporter working so it might not be in the same place.

Maybe you could ask the animu BO what he had to do to make it work: https://prolikewoah.com/animu/res/1074.html#4398

How much fluoride is in your water compared to other states?

77% of our Floridians are getting fluoride in their tap water.

We're ranked 24th in the nation. Kentucky is the most fluoridated at 99%, and Hawaii comes in last at 11.7%. U.S. average is 74.4%.

How many culturally diverse south americans are in Florida? Give a ratio/percentage if you can.
>>10
Latinos make up about 26% of Florida.
https://www.census.gov/quickfacts/FL

22% of the people living in Florida were actually born in a foreign country.

"Colombians, Venezuelans and Peruvians more than doubled their numbers in Florida over the last decade, making South Americans the state’s third-largest Hispanic group," according to 2010 data.
"Cubans remain the largest group of Hispanics, followed by Puerto Ricans but South Americans as a group now outnumber Mexicans. Cubans still have the most political influence, but they had the slowest growth over the last decade."
